Most people only think to question their insurance claim once something’s already gone wrong. A payout comes back lower than expected. A loss adjuster asks for more evidence, again. Weeks pass and nobody seems to be moving things forward. By that point, you’re reacting instead of preparing.
The Claim Risk Quiz exists for the stage before that. It’s a free, 60-second check that gives you a clearer picture of where your claim stands right now, and whether the way it’s being handled could leave you exposed.
A familiar pattern across the East of England
Whether it’s flood damage to a home near the Suffolk coast, a fire-affected business unit in Colchester, or storm damage to a rental property in Norfolk, the same issues come up again and again. Settlements that look lower than they should. Claims that drag on for months with no clear next step. A nagging feeling that the cheapest repair is being pushed through rather than the right one.
These aren’t rare exceptions. Citizens Advice and the Financial Ombudsman Service both report that close to half of people making a claim run into at least one of them along the way, and that pattern holds whether you’re in London, Essex, Hertfordshire, Kent, Cambridgeshire or Bedfordshire.
Why it matters who’s reviewing your claim
When an insurer sends out a loss adjuster, that person is working for the insurer. Their job is to check the claim against the policy and protect the insurer’s position. That’s not the same as having someone working for you.
A Loss Assessor does the opposite. They’re appointed by you, they deal with the insurer directly, and their only job is making sure your claim is properly evidenced and fairly valued.
The quiz won’t tell you that you definitely need one. What it will tell you is whether the warning signs are there.
Takes a minute. Costs nothing.
There’s no commitment involved, and you don’t need any documents to hand. Just answer honestly based on where things stand today.
If the result suggests your claim could be at risk, our team at Your Claim can talk you through what that means and what your options are, with no pressure either way. We work with homeowners, landlords, and business owners across Essex, Suffolk, Norfolk, London and the surrounding counties.
