Fighting our client’s case for a larger fire damage claim
We were delighted to receive this testimonial from our client, but jointly from Dave Cribbs from Babble Utilities & Telecommunications, who is a family member.
This claim, albeit enduring, was particularly pleasing to settle.
The loss adjuster was keen to talk this one down and was resistant to calls for the involvement of a building surveyor. We now later understand the reserve was set at a meagre £20k, because the insurer believed that a new kitchen, a clean-up, and redecoration would suffice.
We stuck to our beliefs. This was bigger than they thought, and the damage was more extensive. Eventually we were able to appoint Lizzie Rose from Project Surveyors to survey, scope and procure the contract works. The claim was escalated with a new adjuster who was much better to work with.
Tenders were returned and extensive strip out works, and reinstatement was agreed. The contractors were appointed, and the repairs were delivered.
The client did receive an apology from both insurers and the adjusters for what was clearly an extensive and major loss claim.
I was delighted to receive this written testimony and video testimony for our involvement and advice in recovering losses for our client.

The testimonial is for Graham, of Your Claim from Steve Potter who is my brother in law:
To Graham, I put you in touch with my sister’s partner Steve, last year when his rental property was fire-damaged by his careless tenants.
On the face of it the insurance company thought the damage was minimal, and confined to the downstairs of the house.
When you got involved it was obvious that this wasn’t the case, and the insurance claim was going to be much more substantial than at first thought.
Steve, my brother in law provided a video testimonial, in which he said the following:
When the property was first visited after the fire it was an absolute mess. It’s turned into something completely different from when we first started.
The insurance company were lacking in coming forward and getting the work done, it’s now absolutely amazing, I can’t recommend you (Your Claim) highly enough.
If you knew Steve you’d know this is high praise indeed. He’s quite a grumpy sod.
So from me Graham, I thank you for all the work you did to help Steve, and to bring the property to a state that is now better than before the fire.
Many thanks.
